Stayed in a little hotel on the other side of Oxford street (Edward Lear Hotel) I walked the root the day before it took 5 mins, My interview was at 10am so I woke up at 6:30!!! tried to watch some TV tp calm myself down! left at 9:20 after calling my fiancee so she could wish me good luck! I left my bag and Mobile phone at the hotel reception ( Your not supposed to take any electrical devices ) when I got to the the embassy there was already a huge queue got to a woman who was sorting people into different lines I think they were 9:30, 10:00, 10:30 etc. appointment lines!
after a long wait (over an hour.. not sure no watch! I usually use my phone!) I got to the front of the line and went through security and round the building to the entrance, I went to the front desk and showed the lady my letter she directed me up the steps to the main waiting area where I got a ticket I was waiting only 5 minutes before being called up to one of the windows!
I was asked for my police report my Birth cert and then was finger printed with the little scanner they have there, they gave me two forms to sign (from package 3) then gave me a big envelope with my X-ray in it(I had my medical a few weeks earlier) then I was told to sit back down and wait again.
After a short wait (about 5 mins again) called to another window and the Lady there asked me to hold my right hand up and swear what I say is the truth on the chance of prosecution if I lie (that isn't it word for word!) how we met? when we first met in person? then she was looking at my affidavit of support from my fiancee she asked where her annual income figure was, I explained that she was training as a teacher and wasn't working on a regular basis.. she didn't like that answer much and said she needed a figure, but all wasn't lost as I thought this might happen and had a second affidavit of support from my financee Mother ! she was happy with that and told me my application was successful ! wooohooo! went to the courier desk to get my passport sent back to me they wanted my mobile number so they could text me the day before I get my package but I couldn't remember my number and my phone was back at the Hotel! Doh! so gave them my home number. So that was that! I hope my experience will help ease any worries for people going to the embassy, and good luck!
