My interview at the Consulate was February 5th, 2014. arrived at the consulate at about 5.45am for my 7a.m appointment. went through all the security check and was ushered inside the interview room. there were two categories; Immigrant Visa and Non Immigrant Visa. People on the NIV were much more than IV. I was given a ticket with a number and asked to watch out for my number on the flash screen. My number was called and the black African guy collected my Passport and Birth certificate and asked me to go sit down. my number was called the second time and another black African guy asked for my affidavit of support and some few other documents. Finally, it was time for my interview proper with this very polite White American Lady.
She asked me to raise my Right hand and made me take an oath that i will tell the truth in my interview today. I did and she commenced the interview.
These are the questions;
1. Who filed for you? -----Told her
2. How did you meet?-------Met in Church
3. When did you meet? -----2003
4. How did she travel?------Told her
5. When did she travel?-----Told her with exact date, month and yr
6. What does she do?--------Work & School
7. Where does she work?-----told her
8. What is she studying at the Univ? -Nursing
9. When is she due for graduation-----Told her
10. When was the last time she visited? Told Her
11. Do you have evidence of her visit?----- Showed her copy of her stamped passport at POE
12. How do you communicate?----- told her facebook, telephone etc
13. Do you have records of your phone and facebook conversation?---- showed her about 100 pages of facebook chat and telephone records sent to me by my Fiancee
14. Do you have pictures together when she visited? ---------Yes, showed her about 18 pictures i brought that we had taken when she visited and she looked at them all, one ater the other and was impressed
15. Does she have a child?----------No
16. Do you have a child? No
17. Why havent you married someone else, its been 11yrs since u met----- Told her we loved eac other so so much and made promise to each other not to betray the trust
18. When she visited, did she stay with you?----- Yes
At this point she felt really convinced that our relationship is genuine. She said Mr. Pius, your application will undergo Administrative Processing, I promise it wont take too long and you will be contacted via Phone or Email on when to come back. She handed me a letter that said I will be contacted within 60 days and returned my Passport to me.
That's the breakdown of my experience yesterday. Please what are your opinions as am really disturbed. I thought the waiting was finally over and that I can join my partner, but this 60days seems like 60 yrs 2me. smh!!!
