Very good experience (even if it a very stressed experience).
I had my interview at 2 P.M., so I arrived around 2 P.M. (I don't know if they let you in if you come before the hour)
Security guard, employees and consular officer were all very kind. No worry if your English is hesitant, they are all very friendly. If they can speak French or Dutch, they will speak with you in one of these language. If they can't, they will be very comprehensive with you.
First step : security.
Outside the building, be ready to show your appointment letter. Even if they have a security list with the name and the hour, it is possible they can't find your name, so this letter is need to be showed.
Inside the building, you will need to go through a security gate. No GSM allowed inside and no bag.
Don't be afraid by the security guard, they are very friendly and will help you if you have any questions. One of them heard my french accent, so he spoke with me in French (he was Dutch speaker).
Second step : checking document.
Take a ticket and wait to see your number on the screen. In fact, this step is not so long. Only a few minutes for me.
When they call you, they will ask you to give them all the documents they asked you to bring for the interview. If everything is ok, they will ask to wait again.
The employee who take my document was Belgian but we spoke in English. He didn't ask me to give him more proof or document and even ask me if I wanted to keep some original document (so I gave him the copy).
I think if you speak with him in French or in Dutch, he will speak with you in one of these language. But, it will be a good pratice for the next if you speak with them in English ^^
Third step: fingerprint
You will wait for 10-15 minutes before they call you again (maybe to check if all documents are ok). It is a very short step. They will only take your fingerprint and will ask you to wait again until the consular officer call you.
Fourth step : wait
Be ready to wait 1H, 1H30, before to be called by the consular officer. Do you feel the stress ? Good for you, it's mean that you are still alive ^^
Fifth (and last) step : interview
You will be called by an consular officer. I was in front of a friendly man who asked me a lot of questions :
- who is (your name) ?
- who is (your fiancée's name) ?
- how did you meet ? when did you meet ? when did you see/visit her/him, the last time ? How many time did you visit your fiancée ? How long was the longest time you visit your fiancée ?
- what is her/his job ?
- what is her/his e-mail adress ?
- can I see a picture of you with her ?
and so on.
In the end, he asked me to raise my right hand and to swear that I have said the truth. After that, he wrote a day on a paper, give me the paper and said that I will be allowed to take my visa on the date he wrote (in my case : one week after the interview).
