Haven't gotten all the details from my fiance yet, but from what she tells me, it went well despite a few snags. We made a minor mistake on the I-129 and her G-325A about her city of birth. All along she thought she was born in one city, but upon looking at her birth certificate for the first time, she was actually born in another. She brought an updated copy of the i-129 and the G-325A and told the person collecting her paperwork about the mistake. Obviously this doesn't happen often and my fiance was made to wait a little longer than usual for the interview while the consulate sorted out the paperwork. During this part of the morning, my fiance was asked an amazingly frivolous question by the person collecting the paperwork — "Why did you make a mistake?"

Interview begins and my fiance suspects that her interviewer was new to the job, because he seemed preoccupied with paperwork, post-it notes, etc. He asks my fiance about our history and he seemed confused about our journey together — that we met in Japan while I had a work visa, moved to California and lived together for 1.5 years when she got a work visa, and now are pursuing a K-1. He asked many clarifying questions about this.

She eventually gets the approval, but my fiance says that the interview was somewhat "unpleasant." She was very nervous and nobody at the consulate did anything in the way of attitude to ease her nerves. But we got the approval so that's all that matters!
