K-1 visa interview review
After about an hours wait I had my interview. The woman interviewing me was pretty business-like (i.e. not friendly but not rude either.) She gave me my originals back and then started asking me questions.
Questions included:
- how many times have you been to the US
- when was your last trip and what was the duration
- what was the purpose of your last trip
- tell me about how you met your fiancee and the history of your relationship
- have you or your fiancee been married before
- do you or your fiancee have kids
- what does your fiancee do
- will she be able to support you
- what type of employment will you seek
- have you ever lived overseas (if so, where and for how long)
- have you met her family and what do they think of you
- has she met your family
- what are your plans for the wedding
- will your parents attend the wedding
I'm sure there were several others that I've forgotten.
The interview took just over 5 minutes, and then she told me that my visa had been approved and that I would be receiving it within five business days.
It was all pretty painless. Unless you are trying to hide or get away with something major, you have nothing to worry about.
Hope this helps.
