We got to the embassy a few minutes before his "interview" time at 7:30 (really it's just the time the guard intakes everyone scheduled to arrive at that time and process them at the entry gate). There was a queue of about 20 people already and it took about fifteen minutes between checking documents and during a security check before Ahmet was officially inside the embassy. Ankara is heavily secured and I, as the spouse wasn't able to go in. You also cannot take any phones or electronic devices, so be mindful of that. My husband said he was first asked which language he wanted to do the interview in, and he opted for Turkish. However, at the beginning of the interview the interviewee asked if he spoke English and they switched to that (lol). After waiting around 4 hours, the actual interview was a few minutes. He said everything was smooth. For us, we needed to send a few more documents before getting our visa, but they processed us quickly. I had a family friend to wait with while my husband was in the embassy, but if you don't I suggest doing some sight seeing or finding a cafe nearby, for most people the whole process takes at least 3 to 4 hours. Some people simply waited outside the gates but that's an awfully long time to stand around.
