I arrived at 12h45 for my 13h appointment. You take a ticket but don't worry if, at first, the ones labeled "A" don't appear on the screen and are not called. I went through three steps.
- The first lady was very nice. She was here to be sure I was attending my interview. She just asked for my convocation and my passport.
- During the second step, the lady checked my papers (earlier received from the NVC), asked if I had newer versions of the marriage certificate, the police record and the birth certificate. I gave her my pictures, the Chronopost envelop (I had to remove the "puffy" inside because it wouldn't go through the window). She didn't even ask me for the affidavit of support, which was supposed to be incomplete according to the convocation. I had problems with my DS 260 because my "paranoid" husband (as he calls himself since he started this visa journey!) saved a copy of the whole document but the website didn't give us any "sum up page". But apparently, it was ok anyway so she asked me to sit and that I'd be called by the consular officer.
- The third person was a young American lady who talked to me in French. She made me swear I would tell the truth, etc. Then she asked me questions like: what is your husband doing as a job? what is he expecting to do in the US? when and where did you meet? why do you want to go to the US? At the end she said "Congratulations, the interview went well. You'll receive your visa in 7-10 days." I crossed the room quickly to go crying in the toilets!
This whole process was very long and I felt really relieved to put an end to it! I left the embassy at 4h so I spent exactly 3 hours inside. In conclusion, I was anxious about this interview but people were very polite and nice. Everything went well!
