We arrived and the embassy at 830am for our 930 interview. The line was short outside. My fiancée went inside about a 845am. She went to security and noticed it was very packaged inside the embassy. She gave the face lady her appointment letter and got her interview number. Later she was called up to submit the DS- 156 DS-156k and DS-157 and her I-134, police record and no impediment certificate. My fiancée went and paid the visa fee ad returned the receipt to the lady she gave the forms. By then it was after 10am. She then waited until 1245 to be called up for her interview.
She went to one of the CO who was giving the other applicants a hard time that day. She said that she was very nervous.
The CO asked her how she was doing and she replied " I am hungry."
The CO laughed and apologized for the long wait.
The CO asked her
How we met?
What her fiancé does for work in the United States?
He then showed her one of the pictures we sent in with the I-129F and asked her when and where was it taken.
He then said everything looks good.
He told her don't quick her job and asked her if she had a wedding date yet.
She told him she was waiting on the embassy to get her visa. The CO laughed. He then have her swear she will get married in the USA within 90 days after port of Entry.
He then went on to suggest we can have a civil wedding in the USA and then come back to Jamaica and have a big wedding ceremony..lol
Overall the experience was good for my fiancée. The only negative was the long wait which is normal for the Kingston embassy.
My fiancée says try and answer questions directly and confidently and the COs won't hassle or be impatient with you. She noticed people who kept on fumbling as if they can't answer questions or had incomplete paperwork had more problems during the interview
