I got there at 8.30 and was the first in line for Immigration. Went through security with one little issue; there was something in my bag that wasnt allowed in, but none of us could actually find it. Two officers and I looked through everything I had until one of them realized it was one of the birthday cards I had brought as "relationship evidence", it had music and a dancing robot on it, and therefore also batteries and wires inside. I did not think about that!
I then went to window G where a lady just left, and was a little confused until I asked if she was coming back, and another lady came to help. Well, "help". I didnt not have a very good first impression of her, and it only got worse by the minute. She asked a million questions and told me my fiancé's papers werent enough and was very skeptical the entire time, and when I told her that I have read everywhere that this is what I'm suppose to bring, she just looked at me and said "no it isnt" but that it was up to the lady interviewing me. So I sat down even more nervous than before and waited maybe 30-45 minutes until my name was called. The second lady was much more friendly and asked about how we met, the proposal, and wanted to see our pictures. I even noticed a paper saying "photos?" which I found odd since we sent 10-15 photos to USCIS in September, but I guess that didnt matter.
I then signed my form and she said "everything looks fine and you should have it in two weeks or less" and turned around. Nothing about the "missing" paperwork and nothing to end the conversation (how about "have a nice day"?), she just turned around and I didnt really know what to do but walk out. I dont even know if it meant an approval or administrative processing.
I honestly did not enjoy my experience at the Embassy at all, and found it very rude. The only things that made it better was a supercute little kid and a famous actor there at the same time. If I could have chosen, I would've stayed with the security officers, at least they were nice and relaxed.
