I had my interview on the 24th of October 2013 at the US Paris Embassy at 1.00 pm.
The security was more than friendly and made me laugh before entering into this impressive building.
I was really stressed and got super prepared with my big heavy binder full of proofs and documents. I sat in the big hall room with my waiting ticket and recognized a Visa Journey member. I dared talking to her, introduced myself, and that's how I met a new friend. It was so good to not feel alone anymore in this important step of my Visa journey.
I was first called to a booth by a nice woman to give the asked documents one by one and make sure that I had everything. (Passport, Confirmation DS160, Pictures, Payment Mandat Compte Receipt, Birth Certificate, Police Certificate, Affidavit of Support etc... etc...). She scanned my finger prints, probably for the biometric system code to put in the Visa. She told me that everything was good for her and that I will soon be called to another booth with the same waiting ticket.
Then, a few minutes that seemed hours after, I was called to another booth for the big show. A young woman, not really smiley nor friendly, but polite enough and pretty, said hello and asked me if I was doing well.
She was staring at me while looking at my passport picture and my actual face. I was feeling dumb so I smiled to her. She asked me to promise that everything I tell is the truth and everything I will tell is the truth during the interview. She asked me to raise my right hand and to promise. She took my right hand finger prints and made me sign a document. After that, she had a look to my fiancé and I I-129F petition for a few minutes. I did not know what to do with myself and was trying to stay calm and serious until she talked to me.
She asked me 4 questions:
For how long have you been with your Fiancé?
How did you meet your Fiancé?
Where is your Fiancé living?
When was this picture taken and who are the people on the picture?
After that, she told me: Congratulations, the interview went well and your visa is approved. You will receive it by 7 to 10 days. I could see that she was smiling while I was thanking her.
I left the Embassy with a big smile on my face. I met my new friend who was waiting for me on a bench outside.
We were both approved!! YAAAY!!
