I arrived at Consulate 1 hour after my husband (the Canadian citizen) and the security guard had no problem letting me in with just my U.S. Passport. The staff was friendly, but seemed suspicious, not sure if it had a lot to do with my husband being Pakistani as well, or maybe I'm just a worry wart.
