Our interview went rather smoothly and successfully.
Our appointment was at 8:45 so we got in line around 7. The line was rather short, which was a surprise and we were in within 5-10 minutes of showing up. We were admitted immediately into the section for Immigrant Visas and called to the windows by name. First to give the 156, 156K and 157 forms.
The only problem there was that my fiance had two different passport photos so he was asked to go take some new ones, which was no problem. I was also told to pay the fee at the next window.
When went to pay the fee the system wasn't working to accept credit cards, they don't accept checks or Soles, and I did not have enough dollars on me so I had to run out to an ATM. It was no big deal because they let me right back in without waiting in line again and I got back before we were called to do anything else. But my advise would be to Bright the correct amount in $$ ($240) just in case!
After that we were back up to another window where she took all of the other forms ( his police and judicial reports, medical packet, I-134 and all evidence, etc) She put it all together and asked him a couple of questions about how we met, when our relationship began, and where we had been physically together (aka, how long were we living apart).
We sat down again and were pretty soon called into the interview room where the woman asked similar questions again and talked to us more about the relationship and our plans (where are we going to live, when is the wedding planned, etc). She was very nice and friendly with us and told us we were approved without even seeing most of the evidence that I had put together.
She told us that we would have the visa in 10 days and I mentioned that I hoped so because we had plane tickets 10 days from then and so she was so very nice that she told us that we could pick us the visa at the embassy at the end of the week rather than wait for it at DHL.
Everything went so well and we are so happy! Good Luck to everyone else going through this! Thankfully it was a good experience for us!
