took bus 69 from Åhlenshuset to the embassy and arrived at 7.50 am. No line for me since I've applied for IR-1 visa. Had to show my shoe soles from the outside and then I was accepted inside the room where they scanned my bags and they put my phone in a small cubby, gave me a card for it and said that I'd receive it back when I'm done.
Went inside the building and went to window G. I gave the guy who spoke Swedish my passport and he asked for further financial evidence, eventhough they had everything. I gave him recent paystubs and bank statement for the latest month.
I got a big envelope that I had to put my swedish adress and stamps on, 149 sek if you're a Swedish resident. Then I sat and waited for the interview,.
About 30 minutes later I got called up and a lady who speaks English asks a bunch of questions. Why do you have your old green card with you? I'd brought it since I emailed the embassy in Sweden and they told me to bring it in on my interview. How did you recieve it? What does your husband do? Do you have any bills showing that he lived in Sweden on that adress. It showed on two different papers from Skatteverket plus my certified birth certificate that he lived with me but she still asked that question and I didn't bring a bill and I said that I thought it was enough that it said on three different papers. She said it was fine and she still had a bunch of questions of financial kind cause she couldnt add up the numbers from the affidavit to the paycheck. I had to further explain that my husband recieves money from the military because he goes to school fulltime, and he also works fulltime. I had bank statements and paychecks plus military papers supporting everything. Then she wanted to see pictures and evidence that we had contact.
Finally she said, "everything seems to be in order which is good for us and good for you, you'll recieve your visa within 2 weeks"
I thought I was gonna have the easy interview that took 5 minutes but I talked for maybe 20 minutes. I'm so glad I had a big folder with exactly everything and I tried to be calm and not to be too nervous.
8:57 I had left the building.
