This is from R's account of the interview. R went in there among 100 people for the same purpose. She went 8th. First,Russian employees checked all the documents. Then, an American officer conducted the interview. They took all the documentation R brought. The English translations of the Russian documents (although stated as needed on the embassy website) weren't necessary. The interview was conducted in Russian. The questions were directed at establishing the authenticity of the relationship. R was asked when and how we first met, what we have in common. What my cellphone number is (she was able to recite it from memory). Where and when I was born. The officer liked the pictures R brought. Was impressed that we went on a European vacation together. Noted that I went to see R multiple times. Checked that R went to the US twice. Noted the engagement ring on R's finger. Asked R what she would do first when she goes to the US. When R asked to clarify as to what he meant, he asked R when she is planning to get married. R said that we are planning to get married right away. And that was a satisfactory answer. R says that the officer was pleasant and sympathetic.
