First, I thank God for showing favor on me and my fiance..he was approved on August 5 and we can continue our life together in each other's physical presence! Next, I would like to thank all the members here on VJ for sharing their experiences and giving invaluable advice that I know was most helpful for us in this process.

My fiance actually had his first interview on February 21, 2012. It resulted in AP for further investigation. We waited patiently because we went into the process knowing we had red flags (thanks to VJ forums). After a letter to my Congressman Saxby Chambliss (Georgia), a home visit, a work visit, and speaking with some of his relatives and friends, he was called to come in for a 2nd interview on August 5 of this year (18 months later).

My fiance said he arrived at his interview with twice the evidence we had before. When he was called in he said he was prepared for questions and confident as to what his responses would be because we actually speak several times a day. He got the older white American and he was only asked one question. "Why hasn't your fiance come back?" My fiance said he simply told the truth, that I had visited Nigeria on a high-profile official capacity and under high military guard. People would remember me and that was a risk to my security. He said this is when he was shocked for the first time in the process..the consulate officer told him his visa was already approved pending updated medicals and a new police document. Just like that, this part of the process was over. Thank you God!!! My fiance said he was still sitting there waiting on the next question when the consular officer said, "Have fun in America!"

Once again, thanks VJ for all your help and I wish each and every one of you the best of luck in you visa journeys!
