31st Jan. I arrived at 9.20am for my interview at 10.30am. I had planned to go for a coffe once I knew the location of the embassy, however a woman with a clip board told me it was not busy so it would be ok for me to go in. I showed my passport and appt letter to another guy and then proceeded to go into the embassy, but first there are security checks. I handed over my mobile phone and sadly had to throw away a new bottle of expensive perfume I had bought the week before, interestly I was able to take the perfume in my hand luggage.
Once inside the embassy I was handed a ticket with a number on it, the ticket also told me I was an immigrant. I sat down in a room that reminded me of a huge bank and waited for about 30 minutes before my number was called. I went to the booth and handed over my required documents. My fiance had already sent in I-134 which they had received. I had fingers prints taken paid $100 and then was told to sit down again and wait for my number to be called. I had just sat down when my number was called again. The man asked about where and how I met my fiance. Asked who asked who to marry and the occupation of my fiance. That was it, he said he was pleased to be issuing me a k1 visa pending on my medical results. The whole process to about 45 minutes.
