Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My interview was scheduled for 7.30 am, but somehow it took place at 10.30 am!!! It wasn't a pleasant experience to have to sit out in the freezing weather, shivering the whole time, despite being warmly dressed.

Anyway, at the first counter I went to I was asked some simple questions by a lady who wouldn't stop smiling sheepishly, lol
1. Have you ever been to the US?
2. Have you ever been denied a visa?
3. Have you ever been married before?

Second counter, they took my biometrics.

Third counter...actual interview by a blonde lady who was apparently in a really good mood
Questions asked:
1. Who is petitioning for you?
2. How did you meet?
3. Do you have children together? (I say "no but very soon", she smiles)
4. When did he come to Kenya?
5. How long was he here for?
6. Do you have any photos of you together? (I hand over a very well-done photo album with captions)
7. Has he met your parents?
8. What do your parents think of him? ("They love him, there are actually a few photos of them together)
She flipped through about 10 of 60 photos and smiled and said "Congratulations, you're approved!!!! I say thanks and quickly gather my paperwork and exit the building, trying to remain as calm as possible despite the excitement I feel

NB: I had carried MASSIVE evidence- bank statement/ receipts/ tickets/ my husband's passport copies with date stamps/ a magazine in which our wedding was featured...better safe than sorry.
