Review Topic: K1 Visa

The journey of 6 yrs has been changed for greatness. Alleluyah!!! Thank you Jesus...This could be you and only you. Love you lord!!! As posted on my fiancee's Facebook wall. We have been in this relationship for over 6 years now and Glory to God we are finally getting together after the approval of the K1 visa at the US Embassy Lagos.

The K1 petition Journey started October 2012 and was finally approved 29th of may. To cut the long story short, I had my interview this morning(07-08-2013) at 7:00.
I did not have a place to stay on the Island so I had to hang with a friend at Ogudu who went to drop me at the embassy we left his house around 4:00am. We got to the around some minutes to 5 and I already met some people waiting at the embassy for there interview(Different visa categories).

I guess one of the police guys at the embassy just liked me. He called me to ask for which visa categories I was for and I told him K1 so he whispered to me that the place where I was standing was for non immigrant and showed me where immigrants will stand. He said I should not go there right away so he took me to go and stand at the back.

Soon they called us to be scanned and everyone trying to be in front had to scatter to the place where we were to be scanned. The same police man looked at me and called me to stand no 3 on the scan queue. I was scanned and I then went to stand at the place he indicated being number one on immigrant queue. To cut it short. We were now in the interview hall and they took our passport, appointment letter, photocopy of birth certificate, police report, medical report and AOS.

Some minutes later, the interview started proper. I was the first to be interviewed among all.

I just looked up and saw my number on the screen. I was shocked cause I was not expecting to see it that early(Expecting them to interview the DV-lottery guys first). I was standing to be attended to while two consulate(The one that interviewed me and one old while man)were checking through my documents and discussing. I tried not to listen so I wont get anxious.
The young man came to me and we greeted and asked me to do the finger print thing and the swear the oath. I did.

The conversation goes thus;

He said your fiancee filled for you... Yes

Temilola.... Yes

Did you know her before she traveled... I answered that we went to the same secondary school, lost contact at some points and then met again January

The greatest lesson from this lesson.

1. Trust in God

2. Learn to write you own ticket with God through what you speak. To be sincere with you... Everything I saw today, happened the way I have been speaking it to be.

3. Pray and Believe

4. After you have prayed, believe that God has done it and don't stop praising.

5. After you might have prayed and believed that God has done it, Don't speak or act other wise(Thoughts negative or positive are birthed by words and if left unspoken dies unborn).

6. Being nervous is a feeling. But you are not a feeling but a spirit that has a soul and lives in a body(We work by faith not by sight or feeling).

7. Put the word of God in your mouth.

8. Dress to make yourself feel good but dress nice. It boost your self confidence.

9. Be yourself, don't try to used american ascent or English in front of the consular, it can make things complicated for you and him(He assumes he could flow well with you). LOL

10. Be free, consulates are not wood or irons or robots, they are human like you. Flesh and blood. They are not God oh. Seriously. lol(If you need to use the convenience, ask the security guards).

11. Be well arranged. I packaged all my document in about 5 "my clear bags"(Different colours for easy asses e.g Evidence of on going relationship were in about 2 wine colour bags.) and tapped what was there at the back(Like a table of content).

12. When you are getting nervous, learn to speak to yourself. Your emotions are put under control by the words you speak. James 3:2.

13. Don't listen to the market noise coming from the non immigrants... lot of denials can break your confidence.

14. If anyone is denied, don't use there experience to judge your own. You must have believed differently.

15. If you are a christian and you are baptized in the holy ghost, pray in tongues a lot before your interview. The guy that all things work together for in Romans 8:28, prayed in tongues in Romans 8:26. Don't just confess the first without having the other in place. lol, and then be sensitive to the holy spirit(Your major partner in destiny). Example, while praying in tongues, I had so much burden and I prayed more and discovered some documents were missing that she had to send. (Insensitivity can bring unnecessary delay).

16. If you have been living rough. Stop and stay focused. Lol

17. Don't be stupid, be wise(That speaks volumes).

18. Don't desire any particular consular, just flow with God. He will give you one that understand your case even if there are complication(That a consulate is approving everyone does not mean he would approve you. Remember its all about you and you are not everybody).

19. Give thanks both in tongues and in understanding. lol

20. Give thanks and keep giving thanks.

21. Give thanks, thanks and thanks.

Ephesians 5: 20& 21.

20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Best of God.

My story is long but I believe it would help a lot of people. lol
