Moscow, Russia | Review on June 14, 2013: | AEL81

So I'm writing this review on behalf of the experience of my fiancee and what she and I both went through.
The scheduling process was very incoherent and puzzling. Though when we finally managed to set an interview date. It was a relief to both our ends.
On the day of the interview, she arrived at the consulate in Moscow before 8:00am.
Once the doors opened, she gave them the paper work we provided and she waited to be called. One hour later they called her name and she had an interview with a nice gentleman. He only asked her two questions and she was done with it. We were very excited.
But waiting for the visa was another story.
Apparently once they had approved her visa, they also do another check of the documents.
so instead of waiting 3-5 days after the approval to get visa, it was not until a little over 2 weeks had passed until they had told us we were missing form DS-156k. Though we knew for certain we had this form and brought it to interview.
So they sent her an email and we were both like "seriously?! Are you kidding!?"
We got online and chatted with a representative from the consulate about what to do. So we got the form, filled it out, and emailed it to the embassy.
The following day we received notice that they received the form and the visa should be sent out within a few days.
As far as I'm concerned, lack of quickness in response and communication and lack of information was a major stress point for us.
If everything in the paperwork was approved before the interview, why the hell would there be a double check after? Doesn't make sense. But at least its done, though we're both disappointed that it look this long.
