My fiancee and I are staying at http://www.arlington-place.com. They are nice apartments but it's not close to the Embassy. We left the apartment at 6:00 for our 7:30 appointment. It was only a 20 minute taxi ride because there was no traffic and I think it cost 13 mil pesos ($7). Line #1 was already out to the street but no one was on line #3 for the K-1 visa. After waiting for 10-15 minutes a lady came out to give us instructions on what forms to have ready. She didn't give us a folder to put the forms in but she gave us a sheet with the forms needed and the order to put them in. I quickly arranged our forms neatly and in order. At 6:45 they let us into the Embassy. I left my cell phones at the apartment because I didn't think we could bring them. Kelly brought her phones and they allowed her to bring them inside. At 7:00 Kelly was called to the window. She turned in our forms and the lady asked her about my father who is our co sponsor because I was laid off in March. After talking to the lady for a few minutes Kelly returned to our seats. 15 minutes later Kelly was called to the window again for fingerprints. We waited in our seats for 20 more minutes and Kelly was called again. This time she spoke to a man. He asked Kelly, where are you going to live in the United States? She answered correctly with my address in New Jersey. He asked Kelly about my family and she told him about my parents. He approved the visa but we have to get Kelly's medical exam results and bring them with her passport to an Embassy approved DHL office. Her medical results weren't ready for the interview because her blood had to be retested. I will remain in Bogota until Friday to get the results while Kelly returns to Barranquilla.
