We arrived at the embassy at 10:15 for our 10:30 appointment. We went to line 3 which was shorter. There we discovered that we had forgotten the photos at home! Trying not to get in a fight, we quickly went across the street and my husband had two more photos taken which cost 10.000 pesos! We came back to the line within 10 minutes and then waited about 10 more minutes for them to let us in.

We went through "security" but they did not take our cell phones. I guess the rules have changed. We past by the regular line and almost immediately went up to the window where my husband spoke with a Colombian woman in Spanish. She asked him about some of his trips to the US, about me living in Colombia. She also asked for his police certificate.

We then sat down for a few minutes and got some coffee at Crepes and Waffles. While we were there, they called us back for the 2nd interview. My husband did his fingerprints and signed the form. The American man asked him about how we had met and how long his longest stay in the US had been. My husband also explained why we had my parents address and how I had lived in Colombia since 2008. Then he talked to me and I told him I had just gotten a job and asked if he wanted to see the offer letter. He did so I showed it to him and he congratulated me. He also asked when was the last time I had filed taxes and I said this year and offered to show the tax return. He did not want to see it. He congratulated us for having all the paper work so organized (Thanks Visa Journey).

Then he spoke to my husband again and gave him info about his rights concerning Domestic Violence. He slightly jokingly told my husband that it was more of a problem with men than you might think. Then he told him Congratulations, you are approved and gave us a little information about the DHL delivery.

We arrived to the embassy at 10:15 and even with our little photo snaffu, we were out by 11:30! Then we celebrated by going to the new PF Changs!

Thanks to Visa Journey for all of the support and information!
