My fiance was approved today. I was not able to travel down and be with her for the interview but I spoke with her several times about what questions would be asked of her. The questions I saw in other reviews were very helpful. Make sure all of your paperwork is organized. Do this by using the guides within this site relating to K1 Visa's. Carefully check and double check everything, making sure there are no missing signatures. This is especially crucial if you can not travel to be with your fiance for the interview. My fiance decided to spend the night at one of the many inexpensive hotels near and around the US Embassy. Google "Casa" and Hotel and Bogota and US Embassy and a slew of nearby hotels will pop up. Prices range from $50 to $100, depending how far in advance you can reserve the room. The previous day she arrived from Palmira at 7am after a 12 hour bus ride. Please be advised that the medical offices for the lab tests and the medical physical are quite a distance from the Embassy, so have enough taxi fare to get around Bogota. The medical process lasts all day. She finally arrived at her hotel room around 6:30pm or so. After getting a good night's sleep, she awoke the following morning around 6am, dressed and ate a small breakfast prior to heading to the Embassy a couple of blocks away. She left her cell phone behind since no electronics are allowed on Embassy grounds. Make sure you leave all electronics behind to save yourself the headache of losing your spot on line and having to return to your hotel. Once in line, make sure you have your paperwork handy since someone from the Embassy will approach you once you get near the entrance with a checklist for the paperwork needed to process your visa interview. The K1 Visa line seems to be the shortest line once inside. My fiance was the 2nd one to be received by the Embassy personal. Since I was not there I can not give a play by play on the visa procedures inside, but all in all, since my fiance was organized she was in and out of the Embassy by 9am (about 1 and 1/2 hours total).
