Bogota, Colombia | Review on April 6, 2013: | Solano

My fiancée's visa was approved in February/13. She is now here in the US with me and we are getting married next week.
The IO asked my fiancée several questions like how we met, how many times had I been in Colombia visiting her and a few more intimate questions. Fortunately, I decided to travel to be with her during the interview and at the end, I can tell that if hadn't gone to the interview with her, the visa wouldn't have been approved.
My fiancée mentioned to the IO that I was there with her and he totally ignored her, but then he asked my fiancée to call me to the window and while my fiancée waited seated a few feet away, the IO asked me exactly the same questions he asked my fiancée, plus two or three more in detail.
At the end of the interview, I felt that some of the questions were somehow too personal, but I guess they are in that position to ask.
If I need to make a recommendation to anyone having an interview at the Colombian Consulate, that would be to go with the interview with the fiancé(e). It can be helpful since in most cases the person doing the interview can become nervous and leave something out. It is my recommendation.
