Yesterday was our interview. I was disgusting prepared and still kind of stressed out. Our interview was at 10 so we got there at 930 and was able to push around the tourist visas to get to the immigrant visa line.
We were escorted in. We left everything in the hotel besides our papers in manila envelopes. Everyone was very friendly. Once inside we sat downstairs in the immigrant visa section and waited to be called. First we were called up to a window to hand in our papers. It was really hard to hear the woman and she was very "fria" but by the end she was nice and told me to stop giving her evidence because what I gave was sufficient. She asked questions and typed up the answers. My fiance then got his fingerprint done and we were called up to the next window where an american woman asked us about 10 questions and said your visa is approved. We were back in the hotel by 1030. It was a really process for us which I was not expecting. And the thing I was surprised most about was that they did not ask for the financial stability papers. But, I am 100% happy that I went prepared for everything.
To help anyone out here is what I brought to the interview:
Passports
Pictures
Original Birth Certificate/Son's Birth Certificate
Original Marriage/divorce certificate
Police Record
Medical Exam
Forms d156 156k
Movimiento Migratoria (from Ecua police)
i134, passport copy, bank cards, 1040, W2 for 2 years, employee letter
Photos, Whatsapp messages, passport stamps,
receipts (only with both names they asked for), new letters of intent (did not take) lease/receipts
Wedding: dress printout, wedding hall receipt, save the date, wedding band receipt (asked for/took all)
Originals from K1 packet
It was totally worth it to send as much as possible in the K1 packet because they had almost everything they needed by just looking at our packet.
Here are the questions they asked us:
How long do you know each other?
How did you meet?
Have you ever been to the US?
When/How did you propose?
When did you get divorced?
Do you have kids? Who has custody?
When/Where are you going to have the wedding?
How many guests are invited?
Do you have relatives in the US?/What do they do?
Will your family attend?
Where will you work?
