I read a few less than favorable reviews, but our experience today was very very smooth.
Our interview was at 10:10am, we arrived about 9:45. Security was very nice, even though they kept finding something suspicious in my wife's purse, but then as we dug, we couldn't find it. They were laughing, in the end it turned out to be a keychain flashlight, but we didn't realize until after we had passed through security.
Got upstairs, turned in our interview letter, then had a seat. The couple in front of us seemed to get a fairly seriously man, they went in before us. Then about 15 minutes late, our interviewer came out, he had a smile on his face, and I was relieved.
He took us inside, we swore an oath. Asked a few questions, where did you meet, etc. Asked to see our passports, took the I-94 and gave us back the passports. A few more questions, mostly about my work, itt's a bit crazy at the time, so I have been spending a lot of time in LA. I suppose this raised a red flag, like he's thinking 'does this guy LIVE in LA or somethig?' But eventually I think he understood. Then just a few questions to my wife, who does the cooking, what do you do while your husband works, etc.
That was it. Said we were approved, he just had to glance through the file one more time, but would send it off today. I said, 'um, don't you want to see any evidence?', he smiles, said if we wanted to add anything into the file for the ROC process in a couple of years, that was OK. So I added the bank accounts, utility bills and tax return, just because I had them.
Didn't ask to see a single photo, any evidence at all! Not one thing! I was shocked. Had spent so much time preparing it all, almost felt disappointed
But in the end, a very easy and positive experience. Gave him a warm handshake at the end.
Whole thing took about 20 minutes, if that.
