0640: Husband arrives at embassy and lines up. He is dressed to the nines in the same suit he wore to our wedding. <3
0720: Made it in the doors and assigned #13
0735: Lady called numbers. He met an Egyptian lady who took some papers from him, including the medical documents.
0840-1200: waiting, waiting! He met 2 people he saw at the medical facility the day he got his medical and again the day he picked up results, so he had someone to talk to.
1200: \"Consular General\" called him to the interview. He was a middle aged man with a beard, reddish color.
Interview: 15-20 minutes from start to finish.
CG asked for dhl receipt and gave back originals, including the professional photo book I made. He asked who our joint sponsors were related to us-- first asked who is ____ (my mom) and then asked who is _____ (my step dad). First Sima replied \"my father in law,\" and then corrected himself to say \"actually he\'s my STEP father in law.\"
He really asked only one more question, \"How did you meet?\" Sima tells me that he just started telling our story. The only questions the guy really asked afterwards were things like \"and then what?\"
DH had a professional book of wedding prints from our wedding in Egypt. It wouldn\'t fit under the glass so he held it up and showed a few (these are like 8x11 size and 20 pages). He did ask where our wedding was in Cairo, more specific than my husband\'s first response of \"the outskirts of Cairo.\" The CG seemed to know Cairo well and said he knew the place or location-- seemed more like curiosity then an interrogation.
Result:
The CG says doesn\'t see any problems. Our marriage is a credible marriage, and it is \"highly unlikely\" that AP will yield anything but approval He told my husband everyone gets AP. He said to anticipate less than 2 months before getting his visa. He reiterated that every case is different though. He took Sima\'s passport.
Interesting notes:
He did NOT take our 2013 tax-transcripts. He refused them actually. He also refused the new police certificate we picked up. They are only valid 3 months in Egypt but the CG said \"for us, they are valid 1 year.\"
