My interview was scheduled at 7.15am on 28th March, i did not sleep very well the previous night (terrible cramps: not sure where where they came from) Anyway; i got there at 6.30am....i think i was the first one there lol!

It was chilly and drizzling, the cab guy had to literally drag me out of his car...there was no where to sit and wait since all the nearby cafes were closed. Still i managed to brave the chill. at 7am were were allowed to go in through the security check, it took 30 minutes and i was led into the reception area where i presented my confirmation page, appointment letter and passport. The lady at the reception handed me a number and told me to wait outside for my number to be called out.

After 15min, my number was called out and when i got to the door, i couldn't open it. I kept fumbling with the door knob and looking round for the guard (this was strike 1). I stood there for a good five minutes and when i got to the window; the Kenyan lady who was there looked furious. She said ''Where were you, take a sit and wait, i just called another number, when i call your number next time make sure you are here on time''. I nodded and sat down (This was strike 2).

After 10min, my number was called out and this time i made sure i was there like yesterday...i looked at the lady and said ''sorry about earlier, i couldn't get the door to open and that is why i got delayed''. She nodded and said ''okay, that's fine''. She asked for two copies of DS-156, two copies of DS-156K, and one copy of DS-230. Next she asked for 3 passport photos, my visa fee receipt, police certificate, my birth certificate both original and copy and a copy of the NOA2. She went through the documents, gave me back the DS-156K and DS-230 to sign. She took all the documents and told me to sit. After sitting down, i realised i had just signed and dated the documents 27th March, instead of 28th March! (strike 3)

After 5min, my number was called out again and this time it was for biometrics. After the biometrics, i was told to sit outside and wait for my number to be called again. After another 10 min, my number came up on the PA and i went to counter number 10. At the window there was a nice American lady, in her 20's. She looked at me, smiled and said hello. I replied, but not so much with a smile (Reason:things weren't going so great for me so far)

She had a huge file with the documents we filed with the petition, my fiance and i front-loaded everything we had for the petition. She gave me a document to sign and i told her that earlier i was given some documents to sign and i wrote the wrong dates: She said, that is fine no problem! She first asked me for the affidavit of support and i handed it to her. Afterwards she kept flipping pages and reading through as she typed on the computer. Then she asked me these questions:
1. How did you meet?
2. Did your fiance ever meet your family members?
3. Where do you intend to get married?

After that, she kept looking at our file and when she got to the photos, she smiled and said '' cute photos''.....i smiled to that! She looked at me and said ''Everything looks in order.'' She picked up a green paper and said ''Your Visa is approved, wait for a week and pick up your visa and passport at DHL. She told me to read the instructions on the green paper with instructions on how to sign up for DHL and she wished me all the best in my new life. I told her to have a blessed day and i walked away.

She never asked for any evidence of ongoing relationship that i had brought with me; no phone call records, emails, skype logs, letters, nothing! The interview lasted for exactly 7min. I got outside said a silent prayer and i couldn't help but cry. I made a few silly mistakes when i started out and i was just grateful that now it was over and i look forward to finally see fiance whom i haven't seen in over a year! Have a BLESSED EASTER EVERYONE....HAVE FAITH. God always comes through for His children.
