I meant to write this review before but got caught up with daily routine of life. Better late then never I guess. My husband's interview was on March 8th at 8:00 am. I had read the reviews here prior to the interview and explained him what to expect. He had to follow the same routine as others when he reached the embassy: take the shuttle, go thru security measurements, get finger printed, acquire a token and then wait 15-20 minutes before being called for the actual interview.
When he reached the window, there was a Caucasian male mostly jotting down the notes along with a Pakistani for translation purposes. They asked him the following questions:
1. Was it arranged or love? (Arranged)
2. Who arranged it? (We're family friends so our parents)
3. How long did I stay in Pakistan after the wedding? (3 weeks after the wedding in Jan. And then I went back again for 15 days in November for his birthday).
4. Why such a little amount of time? (Because I work)
5. Where does she work? As what?
6. Have either one of you been previously married before? (No, neither one of us have ever been married before).
7. Have you traveled anywhere beside UAE? (No)
8. Have you ever been to Canada? (No)
We went to Dubai for our honeymoon so it makes sense for them to mention Dubai but we didn't understand why they questioned about Canada when they have his passport and can pull up the record.
The interview lasted less than 10 minutes. They didn't ask him to show pictures or any further proof. At the end, they claimed that everything checked out and is fine but they require more time for administrative processing. When asked how long it might take? They said a minimum of month to 3 months but the time frame can not be estimated. They kept the passport and he was given back all the original documents that we sent to NVC, green sheet and the token.
After reading the outcome of the interview of most Pakistani males, on this forum, we both expected this result. So now we wait. :-)
