Hi there,
Just a few tips about the interview for a spouse of a US Citizen in Naples. My wife and I are here today and have completed the medical part of the exam. For her it was no problem, it was more difficult to find the clinic which is in a part of town far from the central area. Once there at 7.30AM, we waiting for maybe 30 minutes, then she was called for a blood test. Just so you know, YOU DON"T HAVE TO FAST. It is only to see if you have STD's, no cholesterol, blood work etc that your doctor would normally require. She then waited again for about 30/45 more minutes and was called for the doctor to see her. She was asked a few questions and given an x-ray, eye exam and then one shot which she didn't have. We left the clinic by around 10/10/30 in the AM, but some others were there until 12. After that, all of the applicants have to go to the consulate at 2PM with one picture to get fingerprinted.
WARNING!! MAKE SURE YOUR PASSPORT IS IN THE MOST PERFECT, PRISTINE CONDITION. SEVERAL OF THE APPLICANTS WERE REFUSED BECAUSE THE EDGES OF THEIR PICTURE PAGE WERE COMING APART. IT DIDN'T MATTER IF YOU HAD JUST BEEN TO THE US, HAD A VISA, ETC. ETC. THEY WERE REFUSED, PLAIN AND SIMPLE. THEY ALL HAVE TO GO GET NEW PASSPORTS TO COMPLETE THE PROCESS. IF YOUR PASSPORT EVEN LOOKS REMOTELY BAD, OR WORN OR THE PAGES ARE COMING APART, YOU ARE WELL ADVISED TO GET A NEW ONE BEFORE YOU GO.
After the fingerprints we were allowed to go and come back for the interview the next day at 7.30AM, which is when all of the applicants have been requested to come, if the ones denied get new passports, then they can come too. Overall, I would say READ ALL OF THE DIRECTIONS, and get all of the forms. They won't be nice to people who say "I didn't know". If you want to you, you probably have to ask.
