Moscow, Russia | Review on February 8, 2013: | Mike & Mila
Rating: | Review Topic: K1 Visa
Hi VJ Members----We arrived somewhat early and there was a large crowd. If U have a child like we did you can go to the front of the line. The initial stages of interview are very simple--mostly handing in papers and such. It helps if your papers are well organized. Our actual interview was conducted by a man w shaved head--he handles difficult cases. Ours was a difficult case bcs Mila had been stopped and turned around before at JFK. They alleged that she "worked". The discussion on the interview quickly turned to this topic. It should be noted that although her previous Visa had been "withdrawn" this aspect posed no issue at all. The topic was "work". We answered truthfully but briefly--I, the Petitioner, attended and I am sure this was useful as I was able to "minimize" the impact of any/all derogatory info. If one is questioned in a difficult manner my recommendation is to "stay calm" and do not EVER argue. Stay with the facts and to be friendly. The man, at the end, was very friendly but indicated he had to review our case with his supervisor. He DID NOT give approval but said we would either be contacted again or to look to Pony Express for passports. We picked up passports with Visa's today--exactly one week later. All in all it was about what I expected. The man was very nice---only glanced at the pictures and all the personal stuff.
Good luck Mike and Mila
