We arrived at 7 AM for a 7:30 appointment and stood in line 3 (which was only a "line" because of one person ahead of us). The other lines were quite long.
We passed through security and were told inside how to arrange our paperwork and then the lady would come tell us where to go. Once everything was arranged, we waited in the sitting area near the Iguana Cafe, a little kiosk selling drinks and pastries. There is also a Crepes and Waffles stand there.
A few minutes later, the lady told us to go stand at the yellow line at window 5. When the people in front of us were done, the woman at Window 5 called us forward. She asked for the documents and medical exam results, which we passed through the window. After a quick revision of everything, she organized the papers for signature, and passed them back to my fiance who signed them and returned them.
Very little questioning going on other than "Your name?"
We were then told to wait again to be called. About 30 minutes later, we were called to window 2 where an American was handling the interview. Some quick questions like "where did you meet your fiance?" And "How many times has he visited you?" Of course, I was standing right there, so it was obvious there was a relationship.
He took the electronic fingerprints, obtained another signature or two and said "You're approved for the visa" and then handed a short instruction sheet on what to do next.
Over all, a very orderly process. IF you have the documents in order, and we had about 2x as many documents as were needed, it appears to be smooth sailing.
