A long wait for our appointment (10:20 - 11:3)). Initial impression of our IO was very favorable, but the interview seemed to go wrong when my spouse's English was deemed not good enough to proceed. My fear was that that meant a delay, but it only meant that she called for an on-call translator to make sure that her questions were answered by my spouse and not filtered through me.
Asked the standard legally required questions, asked separately for our 'meeting' stories, family reaction, took some additional papers, returned our original marriage certificate, and copied some photos of our engagewment party, wedding and reception, and a few honeymoon/holiday photos. She talked with me about my background and whether I currently worked (I am retired). She had some intial concerns (I think) about our ability to communicate, but our interaction throughout our interview must have reassured her as we were approved later that afternoon.
All in all a more stressful interview than I had expected from our friend's reactions to us finally finding someone to marry (first for both of us (64 and 42 respectively).
Waiting for the greencard in the mail to see if we make it an even year since we first met which may be one of the first sub-year journeys.
