The entire interview and waiting process went fairly quickly according to my fiance. He was in at 7:30 am and done by 9:30 am.
The CO\'s did ask him a bunch of questions though (10-15 questions) including, my full name, where I work, what I do, how we met, how many times I visited, how often do we talk, about prior marriage, why I wasn\'t the one immigrating to Taiwan. He says that they asked a lot of questions of all the people who were there interviewing that day. He mentioned that there was one man who got quite nervous and kind of blundered through his answers and that made the CO a little bit suspicious. So stay calm and relaxed no matter how and what questions are thrown at you. He was interviewed in both English and Mandarin.
He says it was quite thorough and somewhat intrusive, that\'s to be expected. The bad thing is that there is no privacy and everyone in the waiting room can basically hear the questions and answers since they use a microphone to interview you at a couple of windows.
After they collected the necessary documents, they told him to go pay for the
courier service to receive his passport. Didn\'t really say anything else, but I guess that\'s normal.
We\'re happy we got approved and are now just waiting to receive the passport and visa in hand.
I had forgotten to add that they did not ask to see any of our pictures, phone records, correspondence, etc. We had it prepared a thick folder of stuff, just in case they ask.
Also, they asked to see the prior year of tax returns, although it's not required for K-1's. I guess just have it ready in case they ask. I had also sent: W2's, paystubs, and employment verification letter.
He interviewed on Thursday and did not receive the visa on Friday. We're hoping that the courier will come Monday or Tuesday so we can take a deep breath of relief. They do give you a tracking number with the courier and you can check the status of your passport on-line which is useful for those of us who are control freaks. I checked a couple times and it said "AIT processing".
