My interview was scheduled at 10:30am at the San Jose office. We arrived there at around 9:45 am so there's still plenty of time.
First we went to the 2nd floor and put our interview letter inside a box anad sat down at the back to wait. There were some other couples sitting in front of us (only 1 of them had a lawyer). As time went by, I saw some couples and officers come in and out. I found that most of the couples went inside together but then after a while, the husband was asked to go out and wait outside!!! well i guess that means the couples were interviewed individually! wow... i was so scared! Then i also saw a few officers coming out of the office. There were 2 Asian looking male officers (they looked very cool), one Indian lady (not much smile too), two white male officers (they both looked nice and smiled a lot), and one middle-east looking officer (he had smile on his face too). So you know, I had such a long time to see what happened there and was so worried that I'd be interviewed by those cool-looking officers!
At last at around 10:40am, the middle-east looking officer called us in! i was a bit nervous but once we went inside his office... he's even nicer than I thought! he 1st asked us to swear, then we sat down and he saw our file and said 'oh you two are very organised' but u know what he did was just to look at our evidence, like our wedding invitation card, bills with our names on it, joint bank a/c, marriage cert, our passports and birth certs, medical insurance with my name on it and my husband's recent pay stubs and employment letter. Then he was just chatting with us most of the time while he took the copies of some of the evidence. And he looked at some pics we brought quickly and at the same time kept chatting with us, like the housing market here, my experience here. After that, he just checked our information on the forms to see if they're right. The funny thing is he didnt really asked us questions, he just asked if this or that is correct or not. For example, he asked 'your birthday is on 3th of April, is that right?' haha so thats easy. And yes... after a little bit checking, he said, 'I'd like to approve you right now and i'm going to send an email and mail the welcome notice to you by today so that you can start your life here.' Wow... he's soooooooo nice!!!! And of course, unlike the other officers, he didn't ask us to be interviewed individually!
All in all, my interview was a pleasant experience. The interview lasted only 20 mins. How lucky I was yesterday!
