Dear friends on VJ it was all thanks to your great help from all you guys that guided me through the whole process from I-129F petition to I-485 approval. I have been following posts from various group members on here about various topics and I feel its my time to post my long journey through this porcess, so it may help others just like me.
It was in the last part of AUG 2011 my fiancee sent I-129F application along with supporting docs to CA service center, which was acknowledged by them on 28th. In the month of JAN\'12 my fiancee received RFE where they had asked for letter of intent, which was sent to them in the same week. After about a month or so, on FEB 21st I-129F petition was approved. Meanwhile my fiancee received a letter from NVC that they have forwarded the case to bombay consulate with a BMB case number. I was in a wait for a initial notification / packet from Bombay Consulate, which was forwarded to me in about 12 days from the date my fiancee received letter from NVC. In about 10 days I replied back with all the necessary documents requested in the packet-3. After about more than a month long wait I received a letter of appointment from Bombay Consulate. The letter was sent through an ordinary postal service which reached my address after about 17-18 days from the date the letter was drafted. The letter explained when and where to attend the interview and it also asked me to get the medical examination done. As it was SAT I could not reach out the panel physician\'s office. When I give them a call on monday they said there are no appointments available till the interview day. Lots of thanks to my uncle who went directly to the panel physician\'s office to request them a date at least 2 days prior to the interview date. After requesting a lot the nice lady agreed to do so. 4 days prior to the interview I had to submit all the originals requested and their service charges at VFS office located near Breach Candy Hospital (Bhulabhai Desai Rd.). It took me hours to come out of there because one mistake I had done was to take photocopies of the originals I had submitted to the consulate in reply of Packet-III to submit it at VFS office. The person attending me asked me to refill the forms because they needed my origianl signature not the photo-copy forms of the originals. The medical examination went well, they said our reports shall be given the next day if everything went fine with the tests. Finally, went to the interview with my dad and uncle who had the punishment of standing in the hot sun for about 7hrs. All the people standing in the long lines were called in and unfortunately I was sent back from security check as I was wearing electronic watch which had calc function, I came back gave it to my dad who was waiting for my interview result. I was waiting for my number to be called and one fine moment this lady called my number who happened to be my initial IO. She had this accent and her voice was not clear, I tried my level best to understand but she seemed unsatisfied with the way I was trying hard to understand her questions. She forwarded me to an Indian lady who had lots of attitude and tried to scare me saying their system says I am already married and I may not be eligible for the type of visa I am applying for, I told her that I don\'t understand where is she getting this information from and that it was a wrong assumption. This discussion turned into a form of debate, where I got nervous with the way I was questioned. After bugging me for several hours I was asked to get some more docs. pertaining to tax returns filed in US and handed me a yellow handout. I asked my fiancee to mail the required docs. via express mail which took 4 days to reach me. After about 5 weeks from the date of responding to the handout, I was granted the K-1 Visa.
