My wife attended interview alone. They asked her the following questions:
Who sponsored you
Was it love or arranged marriage
Who arranged it
Are you happy with the marriage
How well do you know your husband and family
Everything was perfect as far as documents and stuff but in the end she got a blue refusal worksheet 221(g) stating:
Completion of all marriage rituals including rukhsati. Applicant needs to provide proof that all rituals complete and that the petitioner and beneficiary have lived together as husband and wife.
They did keep her passport, gave her a token, and said that the passport will be sent to Karachi and she can collect it from there after the visa is issued. she said that everyone at the embassy(guards, receptionist, interviewer) was very helpful and told her not to worry and she would get her visa soon once she provides all the requested information. the only person who was rude and caused all the problems was the co-interviewer which was a Pakistani woman who kept harassing my wife about her being married at a young age and kept asking her over and over again if she was happy with the marriage and if the marriage was against her will etc..
I was in Pakistan for the past 2 weeks completing rukhsati and valima and sent the required proof (rukhsati pictures, valima pictures, receipts from the venues we had each of the 2 ceremonies, pictures of us living as husband and wife, proof that I was actually in Pakistan such as boarding passes and entry stamp into Pakistan, and a letter from my lawyer) I sent all these via American Express office in Shaheen Complex and then also by email using the online form found on the Islamabad embassy website.
I don't know if this is an AP. i did call the embassy twice while i was there and was told that it will take 1-2 weeks by one person and another person didn't give me any definitive time frame. Hopefully it will be sooner rather then later. javascript:emoticon('')
