Bogota, Colombia | Review on October 5, 2012: | visahombre
Rating: | Review Topic: K1 Visa
Today, our visa was approved! Just got back from the embassy here in Bogota. Here are the details:
*Appointment was at 7:30
*Arrived to the embassy around 7:00 after finishing a fast breakfast at a hotel about 5 blocks away and walked to Line 3 (bypassed long lines 2 & 4) where we waited for 1 minute and were greeted by a woman who confirmed our appointment and instructed us to enter the embassy.
*1st part of the interview was a little adverse as we met with a Colombian woman at 7:30 at window 5. She was wearing reading glasses and gathered all the papers which were put in order according to a sheet provided to us upon entering the embassy. The Colombian employee behind the window appeared a little rude, gathered a fraction of the documents I had prepared (D-156,D-156k, Fiance's passport, 2 photos with fiance's info written on back, one 2011 Tax copy, letter from my employer, and a letter from my bank).
*We were instructed to sit and wait for our name to be called around 8:00 am by the employee at window 5.
*We sat, enjoyed a tinto, prayed to God and my fiance's name sounded around 8:45 am to report to window 2.
*We reported to window 2 and were greeted by an EXTREMELY nice American female who asked my fiance the following:
Q: What is your name?
Q: Is this your fiance standing next to you?
Q: When did he arrive?
Q: Where will you be living?
*The professional & nice employee then said Congratulations, your visa is approved and will be sent within 5 days to the DHL office!
*We were back in our hotel at 9:15!!!!
God Bless the staff at the Embassy here in Bogota, Colombia!
