Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Left hotel at 6:30 am with my father, reached shuttle service at 7:15 am and submitted my mobile, then took ticket for shuttle (Rs. 500), if you are taking your family members do keep their orignal NIC as well. From this point i decided to go alone and asked my father to return back to hotel as family members were not allowed in emabassy and they had to sit on shelterless benches for hrs and hrs.

After going through first security check i submitted my bag on one counter then i lined up with rest of the applicants of immigrant visa, i was cleared to the embassy with in half an hour at 8:10 am. Electronic gadgets are not allowed inside. no mp3 players, no iPods, no laptops. Once through the security, i was in the waiting area where they took my fingerprints with in 15 minutes.

Then at 9:15 am a white male late 40's called my name at window 4 and said good morning, asked me to take oath that every information I am going to provide is true, then in casualy polite manner he started my interview.

He then discussed with another CO sitting next to him and said those lines which i was dreading the most "Your case is complete but unfortunately we cannot give you visa right away, we have to look further into this case, it may take 3
months, 6 months or even longer..." he handed me a green paper 221(g) which is very famous as AP and said ALLAH HAFIZ & GOOD DAY!
