Jamnan had her interview on Tuesday, September 25th - 159 days after filing our I-129F. Went through the current interview drill - line up before 7 AM, say our good-byes and enter the embassy visa section. She came out at around 10 AM with a smile so I knew everything had gone well. Her comments:
Dropped a large stack of evidence - not sure if that is why her interview was later than others, but we had a harder case to make as we got engaged after one month. Lots of emails, phone records showing daily calls, pictures from our Phitee Mun, cards from friends and family in response to our engagement announcement, etc. Our case may have had one advantage in that we are both older (63/42) so our 22-year age difference falls well outside of the danger area of 1/2 the man's age + 7 years.
CO is described as friendly, soft spoken, lovely. Interviewed in Thai.
Questions after promising to tell the truth:
How did you meet?
Where is your fiance's home?
What language do you speak in?
Where and when did you learn English?
Asked to identify a number of pictures giving when, who, where.
Only issue she had was converting dates from the U.S. dates we had practiced with to Thai dates.
Very positive experience in the end - told her that her passport with visa would be delivered to her home in a few days. Now we begin the process of sorting through clothing and things, saying some good-byes, and getting on the plane on my birthday (using the tickets I purchased two weeks before I filed the I-129F - how is that for faith in the bureaucracy)
