Guangzhou, China | Review on August 17, 2012: | mickeyman
Rating: | Review Topic: K1 Visa
Overall the experience was quite nice and went well. Here is a breif overall view of the whole process.
8/15 Arrived for medical exam at Guangzhou medical facilities. They had requested 5 instead of the 4 photos that it shows in the information. In at 8am (called twice and both time we were told no appointment was required)and finished by 10:30. Returned at 3:30 and picked up results.
8/16 Process started 1 hour early (because of the number of visa applications scheduled for that day. Asked these questions (in Chinese) by the intake VO 1. are you a member of CCP? 2. Have you ever traveled to the US before? 3. Have you ever traveled to any other country before? 4. Do you speak English. Everyone at this area spoke Chinese which was nice. My Fiance had sent me more forms than needed so they returned some that would be needed for the AOS. Got finger prints and finished by 1:45
8/17 Arrived at 7AM a fairly long line already but started letting people in a little early. We were sworn in twice while in the waiting area and everything was done in English. Number finally called at 9:45 went to window and was asked the following questions, 1.Who helped you apply for your visa? 2.full name of Fiance? 3. Fiance\\\'s address in the US? 4. Fiance\\\'s birthdate? 5. What does he do for a living? 6. What is his job title? 7. Who did you meet? 8. How long have you know each other? 9. Where and when did you meet in person? 10. How long did you know each other before you meet in person? 11. How many times have you met in person? 12. How long was each visit? 13. What does your family think about him? 13. What is your job? 14. Does you fiance have any children? names and ages 15. Where does his family live? 16. When and where will your wedding be? 17. Will your family attend the wedding? 18. Will his family attend the wedding? 19. Where will the wedding be?
I was never asked to show any proof of meeting that I had brought with me so the big bag of proof was not used I only had a lot more questions asked very fast than I had heard from other people. Finally he looked at me and said that my visa would arrive in the mail as he handed me my white slip. I stood they for short time thanking him.
Hope this will all of you that are about ready to go through this soon..best of luck to all of you.
