First I need to explain a little the situation.
I received Packet 4 on Wednesday the 8th telling me to go at the Embassy for the interview on the 14th! Short notice knowing that August in France is acting dead! So first thing I did is called the 3 doctors to try to get an appointment for Monday the 13th. Unfortunately, they were all gone on vacation!! Two of them were coming back on the 14th (date of my interview) and one is coming back on the 27th! I couldn't reach any of them! Luckily Doctor Jolly gave her cell number and ask to send her an email for immigration appointment. That's what I did. She replied to me the next day telling me to come in on the 14th at 9am!! She is really great!!! But my bad luck was still following me as the blood test and chest XRay had to be done to the hospital she works for but they are enable to get the results before 2 days! Once again she was wonderful as she said the Embassy an email to let them know about the situation. I just had to give her a prepaid Chronopost and she will send directly the results to the embassy.
So I did everything in one day and it was a long day! First the doctor. As I said Doctor Jolly is GREAT!! The only thing is she made me get another blood test because I have tatoos. It is more expensive and I am not so sure if it's really necessary. But well I did it and of course paid for it.
I left the hospital by 10:40am and I went directly to Champs Élysées. I had time to walk around and had lunch. Then I headed up slowly to the Embassy. I arrived there by 12:40 (my appointment was at 1pm).
I went through the Guard Force. All of them were Super Nice! I arrived in front of the lady who gave me a number and the heat clearly heat my face! The AC wasn't working!!! It was so hot in there!!!
I had the number A107. I sat down and waited. I was wearing a watch so I don't really know how long I waited. I can just guess :-)
So I probably waited for 30 minutes before being called at Window #4. She took my appointment letter, my ticket and my passport. Then she gave my passport and my ticket back to me and told to go sit down. Then they started calling a lot of Bs numbers!! After maybe an hour they started calling A103 then A104...... And 30 minutes later they finally called me at Window #4. She was really nice. She took all my papers except for the evidences I had. I asked her if there was another K1 visa and she told I was the only one. She asked me if I bought a plane ticket and I told her I didn't and she told me if it was great. She told me to go sit down. I waited this time for 2 hours!!! They called me last!! By 4pm I was called at Window #10. It was a young beautiful lady. She made me swear that all I said and all I would say is true. And then she asked me 5 questions and all in French :
- Have you been working to the USA ? (I was on a H1B visa for 2 years)
- What were you doing?
- Was your fiancé born in the USA?
- What did he do for living?
- How did you two meet? And be specific (she wanted details)
And I was done!
She told me she had to wait for my medical results and once she receives it, and of everything is fine I will receive my visa by 7 to 10 days.
I was out by 4pm!!!
Long day but when you've been waiting for 7 months, it a short time of waiting. I am ready to be back in my fiance's arms!!
