Hi guys! we had our interview Wednesday 8-8-2012. We arrived at the embassy in Caracas at 8 am (our appointment was at 8:30). We first had to listen to the a security speech about what is allowed inside the embassy. Then we proceeded to the first check where the staple the DHL form to the passports, at this time I thought I (the US citizen) had to go through a different entrance but after trying that they said I had to stay with my fiance. After going through that process we entered a courtyard with a cafeteria where they give another set of instructions. At this point we asked where to go for immigration appointments and they sent up to the line on the left side of the courtyard (there is no need to listen to the instructions being given in the courtyard because they are for visitors and student visas). after this we went through the security scanner and got to another line that goes down a set of stairs DO NOT DO THIS LINE its really long and its for visitor and student visas. ASK every time you are not sure if you need to be in a line. most likely you don't ok at this point they instructed us to go to the end of the interview room and take a number and wait.. we got number 37 and they were on number 35 about 45 minutes later they called our number and they asked for me to sit and wait while Rafael was being interviewed. this first interview lasted about 30 minutes. some of the questions the asked Rafael were: my full name, how we met, how many times we had seen each other, how I became a US citizen, when I got divorced, what was my cell phone number, the name of my daughter, how old she was, if he knew my family, what I did for a living, and as she was asking questions she asked him for all the different forms and documents required. 156, 156k, DS230, copy of birth certificate, original of antecedentes penales, I134 and its supporting documents. after this he was asked to go pay and come back. after we paid we waited for about an hour and another lady called both of us she asked about 5 more questions: some about my daughter and about our wedding plans and then after taking her sweet time (it felt like an eternity) she said we had been approved the last step was to go to DHL and pay. we left the embassy at 12. Over all it was a good experience!!

just a few things that I feel were really important
1.- make sure you guys take the last 3 years of the taxes of the US citizen. (we saw 3 people being sent home because they didn't have this)
2.- under no circumstance you should go under the cords that are used to keep people in line even if your person is already in the line (we saw 3 people (me being one of them) being yelled at for doing this) LOL
I hope this helps and I didn't miss anything. If you have any questions let me know
