We had no secondary and the wait was minimal. As others have recommended, we used the non-US line. Both the immigration officer and the customs officer were LGBT-friendly and congratulated us. There were about 100 people in line waiting for the immigration officers. She waited 20 minutes before she was assisted by an IO.
