We had the appointment scheduled on a Thursday. We waited in line outside until it was 15 mins before the interview hour. We were greeted with airport security protocols, friendly security guards. Next we checked in at the desk and went upstairs to the waiting area. It took us probably about 20 minutes until an officer called our name. He greeted us and made us swear under oath. He proceeded by asking us questions about joint financial evidence. I gave him our joint bank account statements, phone bills, apartment lease, car title and insurance. After that he asked a few questions about our relationship, how did we meet, when did we first meet, who were at our weddings. He asked my husband about what I studied (I'm an F1), his job and study, what he intends to do with his career. I suggested to show him our photos but he said he didn't have to except just a few photos that show my mom has met my husband. Next we went over the procedural questions like have I ever committed a crime, been... read complete review

Fairfax, VA office. Masks mandatory. Cannot be valved mask, if you use a half-face respirator you have to put a surgical mask underneath, placing it over the exhalation valve is not allowed. Can only enter 15 minutes prior to appointment time, though you have to stand in line anyway. 6 feet distance markers applied outside and inside building. The inside waiting room seating area on 2nd floor is also socially distanced. Employees are wearing masks. Line was short in the morning, security quick (have to take off belt, shoes, jackets, bags). At no point inside did we need to remove our masks.
Interview itself was quick and friendly. Same room as masked interviewer, plexiglass divider. From arrival to building to leaving it took about 1h30m.

Today we attended The Washington D.C. office (in Fairfax, VA) for my Adjustment of Status interview based on marriage.
With regards to COVID and social distancing: the check-in area and waiting rooms have been laid out for social distancing. The interview offices are small, so the interview officer is separated from you by plexiglass. Masks are required at all times within the building.
Our interview lasted 5 minutes.
The officer was courteous and direct. We sat down, handed over our passports and identification. Then I gave her a two page list of all the document copies I brought for her if she needed them. She reviewed my A.O.S. application and confirmed my details (D.O.B., full name, address), asked me if I had started working since applying for the A.O.S., and I gave her details about my new job. She then asked us about our wedding, and then she asked us how we met. My husband said something along the lines "through a friend, and we talked, etc".... read complete review

My US Citizen husband and I went to the Fairfax (Washington DC) office yesterday for our AOS interview. We were let into the building exactly 15 minutes before our interview time, got through security and made our way up the elevator to the 2nd floor. There we waited for about 20-30 minutes in a bright but sparsely decorated waiting room, which had chairs spaced 6 feet apart for social distancing - but there were a few pairs of chairs close together for couples like us!
A lady called my name, and we were asked to follow her to her office for the interview. After making an oath to tell the truth, the first thing we did was go through the AOS application form and confirm/update information. She made note of our address change and my current employment, and then I was asked to sign to make sure I approved all the changes. She also went over many of the Yes/No questions in the form, and once that was done, she asked if we had further documentation we wanted to present. My husband ha... read complete review
