was a nice and quick in and out procedure. Our appt was scheduled for 10:15. We walked in at 10:08, waited a minute at reception and then a lady took the appt document and asked us to have a seat.
10:42...my name was called. Lovely officer, we chatted with her and then she asked a bunch of questions straight from the application regarding my background (the yes and no q's in one of the forms). Ditto my wife. Asked for some bills, bank acounts, pics...then took photocopies...and that was it!!
Don't know why people make a big fuss about this whole process...I say to everyone who is going through this...IGNORE what everyone says. Everything is a FORMALITY...nothing more than that

The woman was very nice and helpful, we were RFE'd for what I thought was a stupid reason. My income in the past was under the poverty limit, but I just finished college, and for my first "real" job (which I hadn't filed taxes for had an income of well over the poverty limit. I had paystubs and employment verification and everything, but still got the RFE. However, the RFE was speedily processed. USCIS received my Dad's sponsorship documents on February 20th, we got the approval letter March 5th, GC came March 10th.

Our appointment was 10.45 and we came only 10 min early. Waiting area looked like the one in the airport and was quite full. Despite the note on the appointment letter that cell phones are not permitted everyone was using them.
Well, we waited an hour or maybe even a bit longer before we finally got called. We had 2 interviewers (one was on training). We had standard questions like where we met, when strted dating and so on, not many though. No harassment whatsoever. Interview lasted 10 min tops and most of it IO was trying to straight all of the many papers in our file.
Overall, very plesant experience.

Our appointment was for 2 pm at the DC office, which is in Fairfax, VA. We made sure to arrive by 1:30 so we could have time to park and walk in. We parked behind the building, which I almost missed because it said "metro riders parking", but it turns out anyone could park there. Make sure to bring some cash for the parking fee! We walked from the back to the front entrance, and went through the security area with metal detectors, etc. We were instructed to go up to the second floor and "check in" at the reception desk. On the second floor, the waiting room is on the left, we walked in and handed our interview notice to the receptionist. People being naturalized were asked to sit on the left side of the room and people there for adjustment of status interviews were asked to wait on the right side.
There were quite a few people there when we checked in, and we ended up waiting until 2:40 before our names were called! I was getting nervous because people who arrived after ... read complete review

Today, we had our interview for Adjustment of Status at the Fairfax, VA district office. Our appointment was for 1:30, and we arrived around 1:00. We had to wait in line to go through security, which was a bit hectic (a lot of people in line and several people asking if they could cut in line b/c they just wanted to ask security guard for forms or something), but eventually got through it and upstairs to the interview waiting room by 1:15.
Our lawyer met us there, and we sat waiting and chatting for a while. Around maybe 1:50, our name got called by a young man at the door – and I think my husband’s heart almost stopped. His hands were totally clammy; he was very nervous. But the man who greeted us and took us back to his office seemed very calm and laid-back – a young, clean-cut black man (looked to be about 30 years old). His laid-back attitude about it put us at ease as he took us into his office.
He introduced himself as Officer Burton, and said... read complete review
