Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

My wife and I arrived at 1PM for our appointment and then were called in at 1:20PM. A very nice lady walked us back to her office. We sat down and were asked some questions about our wedding, how we met and general questions about our lives together.

The interview was very simple and only lasted 20 minutes. We submitted additional documentation showing on going relationship and when we left didn't have an approval decision.

We checked the USCIS website and found that the USCIS approved our I-485 the same day.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We arrived in time for the appointment and had to wait a bit for them to call my spouse's name. When she was called, we went into the room of the interviewer and sat down. He asked for a few documents that proved our identities and was very nice. Even though I had left my school ID in the car, he said it was okay. He asked us a few questions about how we met, my school arrangement and current living arrangement. The interviewer said at the end that he had no problems with our marriage and approved us! Overall, the interview was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be.

We had an interview yesterday at Sanjose local office and got approved. This Forum has been so helpful throughout our Green card journey that we wanted to post our experience.

Our appointment was at 12:50 and we were called at around 1:00pm. The officer (Caucasian male) was pleasant and directed us to his office which was way down the corridor. He swore us in and asked for 2 forms of identification. After that he started checking of things in the application and was doing lot of paperwork. He asked us if we were lived together and if I was out of status anytime. he check and verified. Those were the only 2 questions he asked (apart from the general questions from I-485 application like are you involved in any crime etc ..). I believe he went through our file before and made up his mind to approve the application. We have been married for more than two and half years. We were sitting there looking at him while he was doing all the paperwork. He stepped out of the office t... read complete review
