Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Mrs.Hammond was very friendly and really keep our nerve at bay. I didn’t have any ID except my expired passport and they had a supervisor authorised me to enter and it went all smooth & the people and security were very nice and helpful. Afterwards we were called by the interviewer to a room. It feels like talking to a friend and she asked a few questions like how we met and review our application in case there is any update. Told us we’ll get news on the decision in a couple weeks if everything is fine.

But the case were updated to approved after a couple hours!!!

Interview went pretty well, not such a long wait time, really nice IO. He went through all the question from I-485 and I-130 and asked to see originals of birth and marriage certificates, updated tax returns, and other supporting evidence of bonafide relationship (we had bank statements, health and life insurance, updated affidavits from MIL and FIL cause we live with them, photos and some correspondence) and then asked questions to both of us like "each other parent's names, each other's birthdates, what do you do for pastimes, who does the cleaning, cooking..., mortgage, how and where we met, our mailing address, about work, salary, if we have a joint account and how we use it, marriage proposal, if our families knew each other, about the wedding"

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

I think he only asked very few questions, excluding the "are you criminal type question"

To me(beneficiary): what's your name, birth date and current address?

To both of us: how well do you get along with each other's parents, how did you meet them? When did we get married and how long ago did you get married (which is less than 2 years)

Other than that he was having conversation with my wife about how he got a job at USCIS and discussed about what his kids are upto, chatted a bit about her college degree and some random stuff about China, Vietnam and his hatred towards Korean appliances.

While that was happening he would ask me for the original documents to verify.

So I was just a document handler in the room while they both were having a mean conversation about random topics.

At the end, he looked at the clock asked if we had any questions, handed us a paper stating there's a pending review and ... read complete review
