The officer at the interview was very nice and cordial. He didn't ask to see any anything as for "proof of relationship". He made some jokes about my extended "19-year visit" to the U.S. and said he was going to recommend our petition for approval. We were the first same-sex couple he interviewed. The whole thing lasted about 15 minutes. As we left, he asked for my phone number so he could call me to tell me when the petition was approved. He actually called me less than half an hour later and left a message on my voice mail telling me it was approved and my card was already in production. Very nice of him. At about the same time I received an e-mail from USCIS confirming that production of the card had already been ordered.

I've had the misfortune to deal with this officel for 18 years and the drama is not over yet.
This office managed to "lose" my file twice, it took me 7 years to get my Green Card. During my N-400 interview, I was forced to change my name and denied the opportunity to modify it back. I've had to report my interview officer for fraud.
Now I must go to court to change my name back and deal with this office again. Is there anything the idiots in this office are not capable of?

We had our interview scheduled for 12:30, we were called in around 12:50. The officer who interviewed us was very nice and personable. She asked us questions to verify our identity i.e. name, address etc. Asked for my Canadian birth certificate and for pictures and financial documents to prove that we have a valid and true marriage. Luckily we brought our whole package so had some of the pictures from our engagement too...I encourage anyone to take as many pictures as possible! She gave us our exit letter of approval right then and there and told us that we would be receiving the Green Card in approximately two weeks. All in all, everything went smoothly!

Interviewer was very nice, other than the over charges that our great and mighty federal goverment sticks us with for all of these forms and filings it went great.
