The Interview:
Directed to the office. Told to raise our right hands and swear to tell the truth.
The Agent asked me most of the questions. Actual examples of the questions she asked me was: What made you go to the Philippines? How did you meet? Have I met my wife's family? When did I go to the Philippines? How did my parents deal with an Interracial marriage. (I am African American, wife is Filipino)
Then she proceeded to ask if I knew some people whose names I had never heard of. That freaked me out. The agent verified information wof past residences.
She really did not ask my wife much which was surprising. She did ask her several questions from a sheet. Questions like have you ever been a prostitute, did drugs, etc. ****NOTE: these questions she asked my wife all had the answer NO, except for a trick question. Do you love your husband? Of course the answer my wife made was YES. However the nature of this positive question mixed with a Negative qu... read complete review

We arrived at USCIS San Francisco Office on 630 Sansome Street at about 7am. There were 2 people going in for US Citizenship in front of us outside. A security gaurd checked our appt letter let us in. After we passed thru security, we headed for the 2nd floor and went to the AOS reception desk. A lady there took our appt letter ,then told us to wait at area B. At about 805am, over the intercom, a female voice called out my wife\'s name to come to door B.
There at the door, we were met by the USCIS Adjudicator, Ms Peterson. She was straight business like, with minimal chit-chat. We were sworn in then were seated. She asked for Pocky\'s passport and removed the I-94 card. She only asked to see my CA DL and then proceeded with verifying some information on the I-485 application (Name, DOB, SS #, home address and home phone number) . She asked my wife several questions: how many times she was married, what date WE were married, did she have any children and 2 of those questi... read complete review

About what I expect from a government office. Most of the office was about as efficient as the DMV. Except they have more of an attitude. When we went to pick up EAD, they dropped our appointment slip in a crack between two desks and so didn't know we were there. We got there around 9am and watched as person after person who came in after us were called. When we inquired as to why people who came after us were getting their EADs before us, they screamed at us to sit back down -- they will call us when it's our turn. Needless to say, when they did eventually find our appointment slip underneath the desk at 4pm, they refused to acknowledge that they had been in the wrong. On the positive side the officer who did our AOS interview -- months later -- was pleasant, respectful and polite.
