The AOS interview in San Diego went very smoothly, aside from a long wait (over 45 minutes past our appointment time). As other reviewers have mentioned, the best place to park is Horton Plaza, since you can get 3 hours for free.
The interview was similar to our K1 interview experience. The interviewer asked about our timeline (when we met, when we became boyfriend and girlfriend, when the wedding was) and asked to see photos of the wedding. She also looked at my (petitioner's) birth certificate, our marriage certificate, and both of our passports. She also asked my husband where he worked, and that was about it. She took notes about what we said and wrote something like "appears to be a legitimate couple" on our file.
She asked if she could keep a photocopy of the marriage certificate and the photos for our file, so it would be smart to bring some digital prints of wedding photos and an extra copy of the marriage license.
She reminded us... read complete review

So our inbterview was at 2:15 pm on July 14th. We arrived downtown around 1:30 and parked in Horten plaza. I recommend this as do many becaus you get 3 hours free and can validate a a machine in the mall. We walked over to front street and proceeded throguh the security checks. Once insode, we found the interview office. It reminded me of the social security office. There are a few windows at in the front. One man took our appointment letter and we sat in the chairs and waited. there were other people there but only maybe 2 other couples. the rest were families or individuals.
My husband and I just sat in the lobby chatting, laughing and watching the people pass by out the window. He had to use the bathroom so he left for a few mintues. When he came back we waited about 5 minutes longer and an officer came to great us. Its funny because he came right up to us and said,"Mr.and Mrs. Asiedu?" We were like yes and he asked us to follow him through. We went to his cubicle and... read complete review

Green Card approved!!!!!!!!
This review is for the downtown San Diego office on Front Street. I suggest parking in the Horton Plaza Mall, it's a couple of blocks away and it's free paking for 3 hours as long as you get the card valdated at one of the machines in the actual mall.
We got to the building around 25 minutes before the interview. We cleared security and we entered the office. It was relatively busy but not too crowded. The guy at the desk told us the officer would call us. No restarant style buzzer in San Diego!
We got called at 9:25, around 10 minutes after our 9:15 appointment. I must say the officer was very nice. Not super friendly of course, but he smailed a lot and was very kind throughout the whole thing. We swore us in, then asked for my passport, my birth certificate, Matt\'s driver license and birth certificate. I guess either that or passport are ok as proof of citizenship.
The first thing he did was asking Mat... read complete review

Our interview was a very pleasant experience. We didn't wait long and the officer was very nice and polite.
He was very interested about our pictures (we had a lot) and he looked one by one making comments, like if we are showing our pictures to a friend of us. We were asked how we met each other and when we started to date. Also, asked us if we know our in laws.
Then explained us how to lift the conditions, did not wanted to see any documents besides the federal and state joint tax returns, we had so many documents showing shared residence and proving our relationship, he just told us to send everything when we lift the conditions.

Everything went way easier than expected. He didn't ask for all of the things that I had brought with me, like my divorces from prior marriages or proof of joint accts etc. He only needed our marriage license. Asked us about our story, and was out of there in less than 30 mins. One piece of advice is get there early enough to find parking. There is no parking area for USCIS or the Federal Building except for the employees. We asked a guard who told us to go to Horton Plaza. It's a nice mall next to the Westin Plaza Hotel which is on the East end of the Fed Bldg. You get a ticket when you enter the parking garage but take the ticket into the mall and they have a machine that will give you 3 hrs of free validation for the parking. It was enough time for us to have lunch in the mall, go to the interview and return without going over the 3 hrs. If you do go over, be prepared to pay $2/15mins. There are other parking garages like this one but they don't give you 3 hrs free, you j... read complete review
